LifeWise Renovations Custom Builds Doghouse to Support KC Pet Project

The goal for all of our custom-designed projects is to create a greater quality of life for our clients…but one project this month has found a special place in our hearts. LifeWise Renovations®, a Wineteer Construction company, along with other local members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), has created a colorful exhibit, featuring extravagant pet houses, in support of the KC Pet Project.

Our doghouse entry, and 11 others, will be featured in a silent auction at the KC Remodel + Garden Show, which runs from Feb. 6-8. The proceeds will go to the KC Pet Project. The benefit competition is inspired by Roadrunner, a Tibetan spaniel whose eyes were surgically removed after a period of alleged severe abuse.

Like most residents in the Kansas City area, the LifeWise Renovations and Wineteer Construction team has been deeply touched by Roadrunner’s story. Nick McIntyre, senior vice president of Wineteer Construction, generously and enthusiastically volunteered to build our doghouse entry.

“We had a lot of fun building it,” McIntyre said about his vision to create a cabin-style home that attendees would want to buy for their beloved dog. “I hope everyone will be delighted with it, as much as we are.”

LifeWise Renovations and Wineteer Construction team truly understands getting a second chance at life. So, in honor of Roadrunner, our doghouse was built with some very special reclaimed, up-cycled materials. Worlds of Fun amusement park donated an old cedar fence, which has been soaking up the laughter of children for years. And local artist, Aaron Coleman, created a vibrant piece of art we used on the roof.
